September - 09/20/2008

5:30pm

Location:Monarch Event Center
The purpose of this event is to establish connections within the community to its small businesses while entertaining and serving the city of Austin. There will be an exhibit hall set up in an expo-style format where businesses will be able to showcase their operations, goods and services. The event will also serve as a family-oriented fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce to further its mission of bringing small businesses to greater prosperity with programs such as Business Plan Writing courses and other initiatives like the Bill and Melinda Gates High School Re-design Project. We hope to educate and empower the community in a fun way to bring a better awareness of resources available to small businesses. Our theme this inaugural year will be Building a Tradition of Success. This is a very worthy cause, and the Capital City Chamber has made a commitment to the development of African American businesses to greater prosperity and the expansion of the business community in Austin. The Vendor Exposition will begin at 5:30 and go on until 6:30 then again from 8:00 to 9:00pm. There will also be an on-going membership drive for all companies wanting to become members of our great chamber. Our Alumni Step Show will begin at 6:30 and run until 7:30pm. Afterwards, the Old School Jam will go on from 9:00 to 1:00am. We would love to see you there!
